5 ways to stay cool in the Arizona summer

It’s the first week of May and we have already hit the triple digits here in Arizona. I don’t mind the heat, but it has taken me 10 years to get use to it. I thought I’d share some of the things I do in the summer to stay cool.

1. Go to a Water Park

There is nothing better then spending the day with your family running around a water park. If you’re going to the water park make sure you pile on the sunscreen so you don’t regret your decision the next day. Going on a weekend might be a little stressful, just prepare yourself for lines and people.

2. Go to a Baseball Game

Nick and I love baseball so this is our favorite summer pastime. We always get a good deal on tickets, we check Stubhub.com about three hours before the game. People lower the prices like crazy just trying to get a little money back for the tickets they bought.

3. Catch up on Netflix

Orange is the new Black Anyone? Binge watching is now in the dictionary, it’s a real thing! Is there anything better than finding a show you love and watching every episode all in one day?  I don’t even need to explain this one, it’s very clear Netflix is perfect.

4. Go Ice Skating/ Bowling

I meshed these together because they’re basically the same thing. Spend a little money and spend some hours inside an air conditioned building having fun with your friends. Personally, I love ice skating in the summer because I get to wear all the cute winter clothes I bought on sale in April.

5. Host/ Attend a BBQ or Pool Party

This is hard if you don’t have a pool or a BBQ. My parents have both so I love to go over to their house in the summer and BBQ some hamburgers and hot dogs. Have everyone bring a side dish so you’re not spending too much money on food and enjoy the company!

What is your favorite summer pastime? How do you stay cool in the summer heat?
